A highly sought-after vocal recitalist, her varied repertoire ranges from the classics of Handel and Mozart to Negro Spirituals and art songs of African American composers.  She is the ‘voice’ component of Auria Trio, a music ensemble composed of flute, voice, and harp, performing artful interpretations of traditional chamber music. She frequently performs with Baritone Michael Paul Smith, Mozart to Porgy, singing arias and duets from Opera and Broadway; and Les Deux Voix, a duo which is dedicated to the preservation and performance of the Negro Spiritual as musical art, as well as Classical, Opera, and Contemporary Gospel, of which she is a co-founding member.   She has also toured with the Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers.

As an oratorio soloist performing such works as Handel's Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem in d minor,  Bach's St. Matthew's Passion, and Rutter's The Magnificat, Yolanda has appeared with several chorales and community orchestras throughout Northern and Southern California.

Ms. West has released three CD recordings that range in style from operatic arias to art songs to spirituals. They include Sweet Sweet Spirit, Lord, How Come Me Here? and An Afternoon of Sacred Music, all which display her versatility.
